Bio:
The founding members of Vampyros Bonobos felt they could add some new flavor to the local music scene. Eric and Tyler both spent a number of formative years in the Pacific Northwest, playing in jazz/funk/groove bands and becoming versed in the music. Having coupled that passion with the experienced funky in-the-pocket drumming of Darryl Roles (17th St. Band, Army Jazz Band) and the rhythmic intuition of Stefano, Vampyros Bonobos brings a thoroughly groovable instrumental sound to the Tucson scene.

Primarily influenced by the likes of Galactic, Medeski Martin and Wood, Garage a Trois, Herbie Hancock, Soulive, Booker T. and the MG’s, and James Brown, Vampyros provides a tight instrumental sound with enough meat for the seasoned jazz listener to mull over while keeping the emphasis on the groove.

“…Vampyros Bonobos are a rocking trio with a huge organ and a great rhythm section”- The Hut

“…Sax-y, organ fueled, instro-funk” – Tucson Weekly

“…Vampyros Bonobos combine James Brown funk, Herbie Hancock piano jazz, and elements of acts like Medeski Martin and Wood and Galactic with a mod '60s sound that can only be described as groovy.” - Plush
